Introduction & context for this statement

As we write this we are in the very early stages of our first year as a start-up. The Good Stream has been an embryo for over 12-months and we are just starting to engage with customers, suppliers and stakeholders as an active business.

This early Environmental Statement is part manifesto and part statement of intent and action.

We are a B2B service provider for business transformation, coaching, and mentoring.

Our purpose is to make doing good with business fundamental by creating a meaningful blueprint that transforms the working world for the good of future life on earth.

Where we are now and where did we came from

Their is only one employee member of TGS at the moment. Matt Tipping had the idea for the business from past experiences and two significant events that were the seed. This is Matt’s story:

“The Good Stream emerged on walk in Leigh Woods - Paradise Bottom - a beautiful valley in Bristol. I was inspired by the my family past, walking with my kids (now men), the nature, pools, and streams.

These were some of the things I noticed and sketched during this walk

When a child says 'they see little hope for the planet because of our generations' legacy', then something needs to be done, and fast. As a founder I know it's hard enough job to keep a business financially and operationally sound. The idea of 'doing good with business', meaning, expanding to include social and environmental considerations into the daily doing, is tough, especially for SMEs'. To do this we need to help them into a 'good stream' of business change.

It's a metaphor for Business as Nature (regenerative and life giving)

A mission in which can give hope to future generations, and my sons, that business is more than just about making profit. A paradise? 🤞

Climate Emergency - there is no doubt

The business scale, governance, and operational models is responsible for much of the planetary degradation, that is undeniable. The business community now needs to take accountability for past and future impacts and be part of a global regenerative solution. The Good Stream exists, in part, to explore what is needed in future business mindset, governance, and radical business model change for this to be a reality. Not just in theory but also in practical action.
